The Dam Square is the central square of the city and for many tourists the first stopover between arrival and hotel, Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum or the canals. They see a beautiful palace, a war memorial, trams rushing past on the way to the Central station or, conversely, in the opposite direction. Damsquare that refuses to become beautiful, a background for 'selfies' and home to hundreds of pigeons that fly their laps there every day. It is the place for artists and every Sunday there are people to demonstrate. We see department stores, a church, Madame Tussauds, three hot dog food trucks, a hotel and a terrace hidden in some corners. It is and will continue to be, of standing still and walking, of Amsterdammers and their visitors, of people coming together and leaving again. It is the heart of the city that is ticking but does not want to beat. And every day again I pass this place. And every time I wonder, and wonder; what would I see when I would visit this Amsterdam for the first time as a tourist. It's an illusion. I can only see this square through my eyes that have become so accustomed to the splendor of this city, the endless stream of people, the tiktok rows, men and women who are already sitting behind half-liter Heineken beer at 10 o'clock in the morning. The longer you walk around there, the more you see. Every day again. And it is this curiosity  that keeps me going there. With my photo camera I record how the daylight stages this square again and again because the performance of this theater continues 24 hours a day.
